Tambour Cabinet

A narrow birch plywood cabinet with a slatted door that slides sideways across the front, so it needs no swing space beside the bed. Inside is one shelf. It stands on a low cobalt steel tube plinth that lifts it clear of the floor.

A sliding door opens only part-way at a time, so reaching the back of a deep shelf takes a moment longer than with a hinged door. It is narrow enough, at 38 cm, for the tight side of a bed.

Care

Wipe the powder-coated frame and the birch with a damp, well-wrung cloth and dry them. Powder coat is tough but not scratch-proof: a dragged key will mark it. Use a coaster under glasses. More in Care & Materials.
